PBS Collaboration Hub
As funding for public media has changed, the Public Broadcasting Service, more widely known as PBS, must evolve its business strategies to sustain its nonprofit, noncommerical education work. The PBS Collaboration Hub is a business model sandbox for the +300 PBS TV stations to test out new business ideas. Based on similar nonprofit satellite models, the PBS Collaboration Hub provides the environment for stations to blueprint and evaluate sustainable business practices in the changing world of American public media.

DENTO
Over the last 6 weeks, my team (Khushi Shah, Ananya Gupta & Monisha Raju) and I have been working on developing a U.S. market entry strategy for DENTO, a Japanese handcrafted framing company rooted in precision joinery and material integrity, located in the Hiroshima prefecture in Japan.
What began as a product question, “How do frames translate across cultures?” quickly evolved into a deeper inquiry into craft, value, and market structure. We had the opportunity to speak to top framing companies in the US, Downing Frames, Lowy Frame & Restoring, and CITYFRAMES, to understand more about the framing culture in the US.
We conducted detailed interviews and surveys to explore the scale of production, market size, customer preferences, and the supply chain of the American framing industry.
The outcome was a three-step approach on how DENTO can leverage its unique positioning and seamlessly enter the Western market.
Grateful for the conversations, insights, and generosity of everyone who contributed to this work. These conversations shaped this project in ways research alone never could. A huge shout-out to CO:Design & Strategy x JETRO - Japan External Trade Organization for bringing this workshop to Parsons School of Design - The New School.

Designing ways to promote work in Public Policy Lab (PPL) while respecting the constraints of PPL's culture, values, and time constraints. My cohort and I worked to design a tool to incorporate Futures Thinking and futures planning into their existing processes.

Immigrant Connection NYC
Creating a high-quality, low-cost immigration legal services (ILS) office for New Yorkers seeking to immigrate into the US. Our team got the legal and business training to start up a new ILS site and we worked with many partners across NYC to connect people with essential services.

Lincoln Center Theater Community Engagement
Lincoln Center Theater has undertaken resources and time into intentionally engaging with its New York City community. In these efforts, they reached out to our class to participate in research of what the community needs are and how to best engage with the people of New York City.
